The Man, the Dog, and the Standard
Royal Dane Roofing is a small, family-owned residential roofing company in Salt Lake City. This page is the honest version of who we are, which is short, because there is no corporate story to tell. There is Jeremy, a crew he trusts, a Great Dane on the logo, and a standard the name has to live up to.
Yes, the dog is real. The crown we added.
Ten Years on Roofs, Three Years Under His Own Name
Before this company existed, Jeremy ran another roofing business from top to bottom. He collected the checks, ordered the material, scheduled the crews, hired, and when he had to, fired. In ten years the only part of the operation he never touched was the bookkeeping. That is not a resume line, it is the whole education: there is no part of a roofing job, from the first knock to the last invoice, that he has not personally owned.
After carrying all of that for somebody else, the decision got simple. Carry it for my own family instead.
So three years ago he started Royal Dane Roofing. No franchise fees, no call center, no sales crew working commission. When you book an assessment, the person on your roof is the person whose name is on the company, and the answer you get is the one he would give his own neighbor. Sometimes that answer is a repair instead of the replacement you braced for. That costs us money and earns us the next twenty years of your street’s roofing work, which is the trade we prefer.
The work is residential only, across the Wasatch Front: shingle and metal roofs, gutters, storm repairs, and the odd jobs other companies will not slow down for. IKO shingles on the roofs, the James Hardie alliance on the siding side, and Utah licensing and insurance behind all of it.
Why a Great Dane?
Because the family has one, and because the breed fits the pitch better than any slogan we could buy. Great Danes are enormous, calm, loyal, and gentle with the people they protect. That is the temperament we bring to a job site. Big enough capability to handle any residential roof in the valley, calm enough to tell you the truth about it, and loyal to the homeowner rather than the invoice.
The crown is the other half of the name. The Royal Standard is not a claim that we are fancy. It is a bar for how the work gets done when nobody is checking: straight courses, sealed flashings, a clean yard, and a phone that still answers the year after the check cleared.

Three Things We Refuse to Outgrow
Every job matters, because we take few enough to mean it.
The owner climbs the roof, not a salesman with a tablet.
The truth costs nothing, so you get it even when it loses us the job.
If that sounds like the company you want on your house, look at the work first, then get in touch. If you would rather size us up by voice, call (801) 750-4243 between 7am and 4pm and you will get Jeremy, not a menu.
Fair Questions Before You Hire Us
Are you licensed and insured in Utah?
Yes, fully licensed and insured for residential roofing work in Utah. Documentation comes with your written assessment paperwork, not after you ask twice.
Who actually shows up to do the work?
Jeremy and the crew he works with directly. We do not broker jobs out to whoever is available that week. Small company, same faces, which is most of why the quality holds.
Do you do commercial buildings?
No. Residential only: houses, townhomes, garages, cabins, and the decks and gutters attached to them. Staying in one lane is part of the standard.
How far will you travel?
About fifty miles out of Salt Lake City, which covers the valley, Davis and Weber counties, Utah County, Tooele, and up to Park City. The full list is on the service areas page.
What is the fastest way to get a straight answer about my roof?
Call (801) 750-4243 and describe what you are seeing, or book a free assessment and Jeremy will get on the roof and show you photos of exactly what it needs and what it does not.
